Motorcyclists with golden hearts and wings in memory of Jani Trdina. TIK Kobarid was the proud sponsor of the eighth meeting with the Gold Wing Motorcyclists, organized by the Gold Wing Slovenia Association and the Gorenjska Paraplegic Society, which was dedicated to the main initiator and organizer of motorcycle trips and a member of the Gorenjska Paraplegic Society Jani Trdina.
It was a cold and cloudy day on the first Saturday in June in Kranj. Members of the Provincial Associations of the Slovenian Paraplegics Association began gathering in front of the Society’s headquarters, and motorcyclists on Honda Goldwing machines brought goodwill and traditional Trojan donuts, as well as some sun. The assembled motorcyclists, members of the societies and local residents of the Smuk Brothers Local Community were addressed by president Manja Zorko and welcomed by the Mayor of the Municipality of Kranj, Robert Nograšek. Society President Peter Robnik thanked the motorcyclists of the GWS Association for both our adrenaline experience and the financial donation they made to Jani’s family this year. He briefly described the course of the event and then delivered the floor to the GWS President Jože Planinc. After briefly presenting their mission, he handed over the raised funds to Jani’s wife, Barbara, and offered a minute of silence in memory of Jani.
A smaller number of members of the GWS Association laid flowers on Jani’s grave at the Škofja Loka cemetery accompanied by his family. Despite the variety and interesting features of the whole get-together, motoring is still the most important thing. The priceless smiles of the motorcycle passengers are another reason to want to meet up again
