As a leading partner of the consortium, the Posočje Development Centre Region successfully applied in July 2016 for the public tender “Acquisition of Basic and Professional Competencies 2016 – 2019”. The action, which runs from 2016 to 2019, is co-financed by the European Social Fund Ministry of Education, Science and Sport and is aimed at employees over 45 years of age with a lower level of education. Within the framework of this project, 24 participants will be offered a range of free training courses, which serve the development of basic and specialist competences. By involving the employees in the various training courses organized and conducted by the Posočje Development Centre in the Posočje Region, the identification and development of individual potentials for a better quality of life and a better general knowledge of the participants is promoted.
As part of this project, a 120-hour publicly recognized educational program “Training for Life Performance – Let’s Live with Learning” (hereinafter referred to as LLL-LLL), with a focus on quality of life, was completed in 2016 at TIK Kobarid. Following initial reservation of the employees about participating in this education, the LLL-LLL program was enthusiastically accepted, as it is practically oriented and covers a wide variety of subject areas: health, communication, computer science, financial literacy and foreign language. The program also includes professional excursions related to the topic of the subject. The special feature of the this program is that the content is adapted to the needs of the group, which, in addition to other competencies, develops pro-activeness in the participants.
In the spring of 2017, TIK’s employee enrollment in the programs has increased. More than 15 employees of the company participated in the computer programs alone (beginner course in computer science, continuing course in Excel). In addition, enrolment in foreign language courses is also noticeable.
Director of TIK Kobarid, Renata Bajt Kovač, is one of those directors in the Posočje region who is very supportive of education, which is why she herself encourages employees to participate in the training. She emphasizes that the newly acquired knowledge greatly contributes to the personal development of the individual, but also to building a strong organizational culture based on the connection between all employees. As an encouragement to all of you who are still considering joining various forms of education or training, let us conclude with the statement of Jana Crivellari, one of the participants in this project: “I learned so much new and useful in these lectures and I am not sorry that I participated in this training. I am hugely thankful to the management of the company and the Posočje Development Centre for this opportunity.«
